How to write a CV in Belgium
1/10/2026
Belgian recruiters prefer a CV that is short, factual and easy to scan. One or two pages is the norm.
The usual structure
Contact details, a short profile, work experience (most recent first), education, languages, skills and certifications. Mention your driving licence if the job involves travel.
Be specific
Give job titles, employers, dates (month and year) and two to four concrete responsibilities or results per role.
Languages matter
Belgium is multilingual. State your level in Dutch, French, English and German honestly, for example with the CEFR scale (A1–C2).
Keep it honest
Never add experience you do not have. Gaps can be explained briefly in an interview.
